I woke up bright and early on Tuesday morning ready to join some of Force of Nature's favourite friends and allies for a special mission across the Salish Sea.
At 10:30am, representatives from the Union of BC Indian Chief, Leadnow.ca, Force of Nature, One Cowichan, BC Health Coalition, Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC, Site C Rolling Justice Bus, and Stand.Earth gathered on the steps of the legislature to ask the BC Green party and the BC NDP to cooperate for British Columbia.
Together, we built our case for the these tow progressive parties to put partisan politics aside, and seize this unprecedented moment of power in BC politics to stand up for social justice, climate action and democracy. The event was attended by MLAs Sonya Furstenau and Carole James, and picked up by many national media outlets.
We are extremely grateful to our wonderful friends at Leadnow.ca who organized this beautiful and very memorable day. It was a wonderful feeling to stand in solidarity and collaboration with so many incredible organizations from across the social justice sector.
Let's hope the spirit of cooperation turns out to be contagious!
