Will Richmond declare a climate emergency?

The City of Richmond is deciding whether or not to declare a climate emergency!  After our wins in the City of Vancouver and the District of North Van, we'd love to see a third city take climate leadership by declaring an emergency, setting meaningful and urgent targets based on the IPCC report, and making a plan for real actions to meet those targets.

Join us Monday night to show City Council there's a ton of support for this motion. We'll have signs and t-shirts, if you want to show your support visibly. We'll be meeting at 6:20 pm at the Richmond Brighouse public library to get organized and hand out tshirts and signs. We'll all head over to City Hall together at 6:40, as the meeting starts at 7.If you're comfortable with public speaking, anyone can speak to this agenda item for up to 5 minutes - if you need suggestions for talking points, email [email protected] and I'll send you a guide our teams created. It would be awesome to have at least a few folks speak, but the most important thing is to have a large presence so bring your friends! If you can't make it in person, take a few minutes and send a quick email to [email protected] to show your support!
